Being one of Deutsche Telekoms strongest business units in terms of revenue, T-Com delivers innovative fixed-network based telecommunication products to consumers and small enterprises in Germany and abroad. Furthermore, T-Com provides telecommunication infrastructure to other communication enterprises and to other business units of Deutsche Telekom. The technical basis for all T-Com activities is an ultra-modern network infrastructure with 195,000 kilometres of fibre optic network and an IP-network which handles 30,000 terabyte per month.
Following its consistent broadband strategy focused on the development of the market for broadband access T-Com opens up the prospects of modern telecommunications such as simulcast via internet for its customers. Broadband deployment is accomplished by offers based on W-LAN technology.
On top of this, T-Com is also addressing its traditional market segment of all voice-related products like voice portals for call centres or up-to-date voice applications.
T-Com Venture Fund started in July 2004 with 50 million euros Fund capital. Main target is to support T-Com in achieving its goals by investing in innovative start-up companies with a strategic fit to T-Coms business.
Start-up companies in Europe, Israel and North America (USA and Canada) featuring innovative technologies, services and business models for broadband and IP-networks as well as companies with interesting technologies and services for voice applications are core of the investment focus. These companies should have an experienced management team and a unique selling proposition. Products and solutions should already consist of proof-of-concept.
First-round investments are up to 2.5 million euros and there is a preference to invest with other Venture Capital Partners. Partners can be provided by T-Ventures partner network in Europe and North America.
