Founded in April 2000 Gamigo is today the leading Game Portal in Germany with a wide range of chats, forums and news about video games for PCs and consoles. Moreover Gamigo is the biggest community in German language in terms of Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG). Additionally, Gamigo is offering Casual Games.

In January 2007 the media house Axel Springer and bmp have acquired T-Online Venture Funds shares of Gamigo.
